On the 6th of February all of the marketing teams walked up to firstsite to meet Susan. For the exhibition we need a space where we can display the work but can create a functional and professional atmosphere.

The first board rooms on the left is where the photos are. First impressions of the room were that with the tables and chairs its very professional however it was a little bit cluttered. It makes it look smaller than it is, once chairs and tables are moved the room just opens up.

One thing I really liked about the space is the abstract triangular shelves. They have lights across the top of them and they act as a perfect mini gallery for art.
The windowsill also is a good place to lay art and has a lot of natural light so show it off.

Board room number 1 is slightly bigger and is where we plan to have our tables and information. It has the shelves and a television so I'm sure we can set up there. I believe we can fit all three groups in. I will have to consult the other teams to make the plan.

The second room would be the game room. All of our games displayed on macs will be in there. As much as we would like to keep the games next to our displays, there simply isn't enough room. I think a circle table will fit best for that room. Since the plug boxes are in the middle of the room there is no point dragging cables across the floor. 6 Macs. 2 macs per game. All in a circle. Its a lot safer and a lot more suitable for what we want to do.

There is also a massive whiteboard in the second room which Dot suggested could be a guestbook. I really like this idea because it can get feedback and notes from the games. This will ultimately help us in our evaluation.

In each room there is also a big TV. This can be used to play the music of each group and also have the trailer and blooper reel etc. This needs to be hooked up with a laptop so we will have to borrow one from the college or find a students one we can borrow.

Points to remember:
-
We can put art on the walls but it has to be with masking tape.
-
There can be colour lights if we ask for them
-
She has extra tables we can use. Circular ones too.
-
All chairs can be removed
-
Bring extension cables for the plugs
-
A3 Landscape sign for the exhibition signpost
-
Music can't be too loud - film playing in auditorium.

Myself and Jess Powell decided to create a rough guide based on the floorplan given.

I asked each marketing team to print this out and design the space. Then we could come together and make one big plan.

I think our plan works. Each group has an equal amount of space and displaying room. The macs will go better on the round table and the room we have when its laid out like this makes it more effective with space and how many people we have coming.

I will recreate this on the pc and show the final one on this page once discussed with marketers.
