What's On Colchester

As part of our exhibiton advertising, I took it upon myself to reach out to event websites for our local area. (Visitcolchester.com, 2018) is a website run by the Colchester visitor information center. It advertises local events, showcases things to do how to plan visits to our town. Lots of major events are shown of here so I thought it would be beneficial for us to follow in their footsteps and do the same.

Below is the form that I had to fill in. All the information I put in was checked and verified by Lizzy then sent off. What I didn't know however was that rather than just this one site. It posts the advert on all their sister sites.

This is perfect because from one submission we are on all these local sites. It not only means we could have reached people from Colchester but from further out aswell.

There was no "Video game" related option, so art exhibition was the closest related one. Its not too much of a problem however because it is also an exhibition of our teams art.

This was the only major problem of the submission. The image would not upload. I tried to submit it on mobile and PC however it still wouldn't go, I even tried to phone the information center who process the forms. But they were busy every time I tried. The only solution to this was to crop down the poster image to just the characters. This was my end solution. Another possible solution was to create a new image with the game logos, however I really wanted to get the trio of characters on there.

They needed a summary and full description for the form. The small one is to reel people in, to catch their eyes. Or to briefly inform them so they click on the link to read more.

I'm extremely happy with how this turned out. Its a very important thing to advertise for the exhibition and because major events do it, it makes me feel that its taking me one step forward in my marketing experience.
